I'm not sure which I prefer but I lean more towards the branches and stick pieces I make. This was the original style I started with but finding the right branch or stick is harder that I imagined. It requires lots of staring at the ground and searching and then I need to wait to see if the wood is solid or just crumbles.

The hoops came as a second option as I spotted them in my local craft store one day and thought I could apply the same design to a hoop for simplicity sake. They definitely have a different look completely and are much 'cleaner' in style. I love the raw and natural look from using the branches. And i'm all about using what nature has already provided. I find natures imperfections to be the thing that makes it so perfect.

Experimenting with these sorts of things is all part of my artistic journey and I love it! I'd love to experiment with dried bones in future…
